Department of Anaesthesia

About us

We are more than a hundred anaesthetists, working at two main hospital sites within the Trust:

  • the University Hospital on the northeast side of Coventry

  • the Hospital of St. Cross in Rugby, Warwickshire

This is the largest department providing training for the Warwickshire School of Anaesthesia in the West Midlands Deanery.

The new integrated Anaesthesia Department in the University Hospital provides us with superb accommodation.

If you are a patient or may be looking for information about anaesthesia, there is an excellent site giving information about anaesthesia.

Using the links in the left-hand frame, you can check information about our department and its place in the delivery of services locally. There is also information on how to get to us, on the training we offer to senior house officers and specialist registrars, and about the medical school that is now open in Coventry. There is information on getting a job with us.

And you can check where you're supposed to be on Monday morning.

I have also put up the text of our department handbooks. One is of very local interest, and trainees rotating here should read it before arriving. The other is a set of clinical guidelines for our delivery suite.
