Structured Management Airway Response Team - SMART^®

To be held at: Clinical Sciences Building, University Hospital, Clifford Bridge Road, Coventry CV2 2DX

Course Fees: consultant anaesthetist: £225 (DAS member: £200) | SAS or trainee anaesthetist: £175 (DAS member £150) | theatre team member: £100*

* This fee will be refunded if accompanied by an anesthetist from the same Trust  

This one-day course includes interactive team training, simulation, and airway technical skills. It aims to highlight the importance of

• “Error Avoidance” strategy.

• “Human Factors” in crisis management.

• Leadership, communication and hierarchical barriers.

• Situation awareness and decision making.

• Practical briefing and debriefing skills.

• Risk and error management

Applied for 5 CPD points from the Royal College of Anaesthetists (1I02, 1I03, 1B02, 1C02, 2A01)

Places are limited to 12 anaesthetist/ODP teams (24 delegates). Priority will be given to those who register as a team (anaesthetist with theatre staff) from an individual NHS Trust. However, individual anaesthetists and theatre team members are welcome to apply.
