Coventry Airway Management Course - approved for 5 CEPD points

This one day course is for all grades of anaesthetists who wish to update advanced skills in managing difficult airways. The course format includes lectures, case discussions and interactive workshops.

Programme

Lectures on:

  • Predicting difficult airway

  • Awake fibreoptic intubation

  • Non-technical skills in airway management

  • Management of difficult airway

  • Airway management of patient with cervical spine injury

Workshops:

  • Oxford Box and Dexter Endoscopy Trainer

  • Oral and nasal fibreoptic intubation

  • C Trach and iLMA

  • Optimising direct laryngoscopy

  • Fibreoptic Intubation through LMA & iLMA

  • Video-laryngoscopes

  • Airtraq, Bonfils & Bullard laryngoscopes

  • Surgical Cricothyroidotomy & Trans-tracheal Jet Ventilation

  • Simulator: Difficult airway scenarios

  • Human factors and non-technical skills

  • Lung isolation techniques

  • Fibreoptic assisted retrograde intubation
