Obstetric anaesthesia consultant cover |
Click here for the home page |
These pages are used to organise consultant cover in obstetric anaesthesia.
We provide labour ward cover morning and afternoon on weekdays, except for bank holidays and clinical audit days (when we go to bank holiday service). We also run a caesarean planning clinic every week and a complex referral clinic every two weeks.
We aim to provide ten sessions per week of supervised training, during the busiest periods for the labour ward and maternity theatres. This supervised training is provided through fixed commitments in our job plans. When a consultant is on leave, other consultants try to provide cover in order to provide high supervision rates.
The information on these pages changes regularly and is a guide to the supervision arrangements. The on call cover is always specified in our weekly department rota.
Key
Sessions needing consultant cover are coloured pink. A day with no direct consultant supervision planned has a purple fill, and one with incomplete supervision is coloured mauve. A straw colour indicates a consultant working a flexible session to cover absent colleagues.
